Hare Rama Hare Krishna Movie Review

Rating: "Hare Rama Hare Krishna" brings together two giants - composer Ilayaraja and lyricist Hamsalekha - known as trendsetters in the Tamil and the Kannada film industries. But their good work seems to have gone down the drain because the film moves like a directionless vehicle. Neither Hamsalekha's lyrics nor Ilayaraja compositions could help the film as director C.V. Ashok Kumar's script is full of unwanted sequences, which are devoid of logic and credibility.

What is the story all about? It revolves around an unemployed guy Anand, who bribes an official for a job. When he doesn't get the job, an angry Anand approaches an higher authority demanding that the money he paid should be returned. But he is framed by the officials and they send him to prison.

After a turn of events, Anand becomes a don and collects 'hafta'. It was not wise on the director's part to write a story which has been told over and again. What makes the matters worse is Ashok's immature narrative style. He has not been able to create even a little bit of viewer interest. If the first half tests your patience, the second half, though predictable, gathers pace but boils down to an unending drama of torture.

The title of the film, which was awarded an A-certificate, does not have any connection to the story. Actor Sree Murali, who recnlty gave a series of flops, should have avoided working with an inexperienced director like Ashok. Pooja Gandhi's role is not well defined and even the song sequences are not likeable. Roopashri is better than Pooja in her performance.

Veteran actors Achyuth Kumar, Siddaraj Kalyan Kumar, Kari Subbu, Mico Nagaraj, Padmavasanthi have done a decent job, but it has not helped the film in any way. The film is bad enough to keep the audience out of the theatres. Avoid it.
